Anglia Ruskin University, one of the largest universities in the east of England, created a five year partnership with Equiniti to deliver managed payroll services for the university’s 2,000+ staff.

The managed payroll service covers a weekly payroll and a monthly payroll, both of which
have a fairly high turnover and can involve a considerable amount of keying if there are a number of new starts to process on the system.

All data for input is manually entered into the payroll system by Equiniti staff, whether received by post or electronically. The dedicated, CIPP-qualified Equiniti team undertakes all standard payroll processing tasks other than third party payments, which ARU chose to retain management of. In addition to the standard tasks, Equiniti produces pension year-end reports for both teachers and local government schemes, and other reports required by the university to aid statistical returns made to the Government on an annual basis.
